Dr. Lynn Schutt was born in Buffalo, New York. His father was an Air Force pilot, so Lynn, his mother, and his four brothers lived all over the world, including Alaska and Africa. He graduated from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, and still attends when he can every game the Buckeyes play. After his internship at South Shore Veterinary Associates in South Weymouth, Massachusetts, he worked for a year in New Haven, Connecticut. He then moved to Northern Virginia, where his parents lived since the early seventies. Dr. Schutt opened Old Town Veterinary Hospital in 1980, and then the Beacon Hill Cat Hospital in 1990. After selling those practices, he opened Belle Haven Animal Medical Centre in 2000. He has two children, Kyle and Danielle, and many pets, including three dogs, five cats and three horses. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Cynthia. They enjoy boating, skiing, biking and pretty much anything else that you can do outdoors.
